Inspiration – All Black With A Little Color

By Ildi Pop | Inspiration

Always been a fan of black when it comes to fashion. Black never goes out of style, whenever I’m in doubt I wear black.

Love the all black ensemble, but with a splash of color, you can always brighten it up.

Accessorize the ensemble with either a statement necklace, scarf, bag, shoes, blazer, bangles, red lips.

Here are some inspirational all blacks from Pinterest.

Monday’s Inspiration – Roll Up Your Jeans

By Ildi Pop | Fashion , Inspiration

Let’s start the week with some inspiration – rolled up / cuffed jeans.

With either heels, sandals, flats or ankle booties, the rolled up jeans are a must for this Spring.

Recently I’ve bought a pair of jeans, but they were too long, so I rolled them up and they are ready to wear.

Here are some ideas taken from Pinterest.

Shopping In Budapest

By Ildi Pop | Fashion , Inspiration

There are plenty of things to do while you are in Budapest, shopping is one of them. You can indulge and splurge at the same time chosing between brands like Zara to Louis Vuitton.

From shopping malls to boutiques, Budapest offers lots of places where you can find what you are looking for.

Here is a list of places where I enjoy shopping.

First, let me tell you that there are Hungarian brands I just have to mention. Whenever I visit their stores I find something nice.

MONOFASHION – a small boutique located downtown which offers clothes from Hungarian contemporary designers. Here you can find brands like: NUBU, NANUSHKA, USE, JE SUIS BELLE, ARTISTA.

MONO

MONO

My favorites are NUBU, NANUSHKA and USE.

NUBU is all about sophistication, elegance, comfiness. Their collection is made for the urban women, who love the minimalistic and simple cuts. Last summer I’ve visited the Monofashion boutique and purchased 3 amazing dresses, which I’ve worn all summer long.

NUBU

NUBU

NANUSHKA – is a brand which offers contemporary clothes for modern day women. Their clothes are comfortable and stylish at the same time. Nanushka opened its first flagship store in downtown Budapest.

NANUSHKA

NANUSHKA

USE  – it’s a high contemporary fashion brand. Their clothes are very fashionable, really chick. They offer amazing dresses, skirts, trousers – ready to wear clothes. Here I’ve purchased an oversize cardigan/coat, which keeps me warm but stylish too. I get a lot of compliments whenever I wear it.

USE

USE

If you want to splurge, you just need to walk down on Andrassy Street. There you can find stores like Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Gucci, Tous. Great for window shopping as well.

Also this spring Budapest will get its first luxury department store called IL BACIO DI STILEHere you can find both high-end fashion and contemporary brands from Zadig & Voltaire Chloé, Lanvin, Céline, Jill Sander to Valentino…

IL BACIO DI STILE

IL BACIO DI STILE

Downtown there is also a store called HEAVEN STORE with brands like Balenciaga, Stella McCartney, DVF, YSL, Patrizia Pepe. There’s a little ‘place’ of Heaven in there 🙂

HEAVEN STORE

HEAVEN STORE

Nearby from Heaven Store, you can also do some retail therapy while walking down the FASHION STREET.

Here you can find stores like Furla, Nanushka, Hugo Boss, Massimo Dutti (which opened its first store in Budapest in Fall of 2012 ). When you are already done and hungry from shopping, or just want to take a little snack-break, check out a great place called VAPIANO. Offering both takeaway and sit-in options, they make a great quick-lunch or early dinner option before you go home to check your latest additions to your fashion-closet 🙂

FASHION STREET

Vörösmarty Square & Váci Street are also in downtown Budapest: here you can take a nice walk and stop by stores like Zara, Mango, H&M, Humanic.

Shopping malls also make shopping great fun, amongst all, my favorits are ARENA PLAZA, MOM PARK.

MOM PARK

The brands in almost all shopping malls are the same: Mango, Zara, H&M, etc… but in MomPark there’s a French Connection store and a concept gallery – CONCEPT GALLERY in which you can find brands like Michael Kors, Paola Frani or Ottaviani. Great excuse to go there and check it out.

My London

By Ildi Pop | Inspiration , Travel

I remember going to London for the first time, it was 5 or 6 years ago for my birthday.

I was really excited to explore the city as I heard so many good things about it. In an instant this city became dear to my heart.

Since then, I revisited London several times, my last trip was this May.

My favorite areas to walk around are Mayfair and Soho. I enjoyed walking through Mayfair, as you can see all the beautiful architecture, lots of high-end designer stores. Soho is a much more edgier area of London, it has really good restaurants and unique boutiques.

Here is a little guide of where to eat, where to shop when you are in London, hopefully it will be helpful.

  • EAT
Bread Street Kitchen
Located in the heart of the city, this restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. The place is very huge, a mix of vintage and modern pieces. The food is excellent, I’ve tried the Caesar salad, which was delicious.

PRINCI

This stylish self-service Italian restaurant offers delicious pizza, salads, pastry and desserts. Whenever I visited the place it was all the time crowded, there were no free tables. So I took it away and enjoyed it while watching my favorite show.

ALL SAINTS

One of my favorite stores in London. This British label offers punk-rock-chic women and men clothing. The windows and insides are filled with Singer sewing machines, which makes the store unique. When I was in London for the fist time I fell in love with this store and managed to purchase a great shoulder bag and wallet. The other great thing is that you can order online and the delivery is free. I ordered online for several times, my last order was for my birthday a great leather biker jacket.

I’m loving the faux fur vests and jackets.

They can glam up an entire outfit, can be combined with lots of things.

Wear them with either skinnies, leather trousers, dresses, skirts, shorts with tights and you will look stylish.

I love wearing my faux fur vest from Mango with a silk blouse, leather trousers and heels.

New York Through My Eyes

By Ildi Pop | Inspiration , Travel

New York became one of my favorite cities. I feel lucky and blessed that I got the opportunity to visit this amazing city several times already.

The City is filled with energy, inspiration and as they say it never sleeps.

Here I could never get bored. Even just walking in Manhattan is already a fantastic experience: watching the amazing skylines and anxiously waiting where the road will lead me, what the City will offer.

In order to help first time NYC visitors, I made a short guide packed with some of my favorite places. If you need an idea what to do, where to eat and where to shop while you are in NYC, here’s my little list.

  • EAT

At this ‘roadside’ burger stand, you can find delicious burgers, hot dogs, shakes, fries…I’ve only tasted the burgers and fries and it was really tasty. Check out the veggie burger, it’s fun!

  •  SHOP
New York offers variety of places where to shop. Starting from small boutiques to department stores.
I prefer boutiques, but from time to time I wander into department stores, too.
The boutiques offer some unique pieces, which cannot be found in the department stores, for me it’s easier to shop in boutiques as I can select easier the pieces which I like.
The 3 B’s – Bloomingdales, Barneys and Bergdorf Goodman.
Barneysit’s a luxurious place to shop, here you can find all the high-end fashion from Balenciaga to 3.1 Phillip Lim.
If you cannot afford it, then it’s perfect for just walking in the store and get inspiration from the renowned designers.
BARNEYS

I like to visit these boutiques as they offer unique pieces from clothes to bags, shoes. I got the chance to purchase an Elisabeth and James silk shirt, 2 J Brand Jeans at an affordable price as they were on sale.
