‘Gossip Girl here, your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite.’
Gossip Girl ended its 6th season. It was made based on the book series of the same name written by Cecily Von Ziegesar, and I can say it was one of my favorite shows for a very long time. You, who read my blog might even remember I saw a little bit of filming while I was walking around in NYC.
The show was fulfilled with drama between privileged teenagers who attended an elite private school in New York City.
By far this was the most stylish show I’ve ever seen. I loved how Serena, Blair, Lily were styled from episode 1 to the last one.
But, my favorite one was definetly Serena’s style, very ‘New York’, no wonder she was the ‘IT Girl’. Her style can be described as boho chick with a hint of rock-chic edge. Her outfits were a mix of vintage designer clothes and contemporary pieces, which made her look effortlessly stunning.
Throughout the show great clothes were shown from great designers, I always got inspired when I was watching the series thinking that YES I can try to pull off these outfits as well.
The apartments were also pretty spectacular, Lily’s apartment located on the Upper East Side with the Prada Marfa sign next to the entrance or Dan’s cozy loft with brick walls located in Brooklyn wasn’t shabby at all. Blair lived in a Penthouse apartment of the ultra-exclusive Fifth Avenue, which was just luxury.
Most of the scenes were filmed in real locations in New York City, so there was always a good chance that you are the lucky one who could catch a glimpse of filming. This has happened to me when I was in NYC , I got the opportunity to see filming Season 4 Episode 8 – see more here.
Also a scene was filmed with Serena and Ivy shopping at one of my favorite boutiques in the City called Intermix – see more here.
In the last episode the identity of Gossip Girl was revealed, which in fact was Gossip Guy. Who would have thought it was Lonely Boy, the outsider from Brooklyn, the underdog – Dan Humphrey! This was a big surprise for me, it didn’t crossed my mind that it was Dan, but I think it made sense after all. He wanted to fit in the lives of Upper East Siders and to get close to Serena, so he decided to write himself into their lives. Only one person knew he was Gossip Girl, it was her sister Jenny and she didn’t revealed his secret.
At the end, Dan pronounced ‘Gossip Girl dead’.
XoXo, Gossip Girl.
